Ok, I am going to try to split this into two sections- the short review and an extended review. The short review: It is AMAZING and well worth the expense. Buy good beans and you are good to go. The longer review: First of all, this machine is expensive so I would look for any sort of sale. For us, it was worth it. The expense: At time of purchase this was going for roughly $799, but in terms of value it was worth it for us. Looking at our Starbucks bill, we spent well over that in just a few months because we would go there each morning and sometimes on the way home from work. We haven’t visi…
I had previously tried a Philips superautomatic (doesn't matter which, they'll all be about the same in terms of the nature of their limitations), and was pretty disappointed by the lack of espresso that, well, tasted like espresso. I got rid of it and used a $200 unit that was pre-ground coffee only (and it did a far better job than the $850 Philips in terms of sheer espresso quality), but it still left something to be desired. I wanted fresh-ground but with convenience. This thing was sitting around in my Saved For Later space for a long time, and I decided to snag it when the price dropped …
I love the machine and echo what many others have said about its performance and features. My reason for writing a review relates to their customer service, which some have critiqued here. My experience could not have been better. I bought some lightly-roasted beans from a local roaster. I could hear the grinder struggling, and it eventually jammed, making a loud screeching noise when it did. After that episode, it would grind softer beans, but with a loud clacking sound. I was barely inside the 1-year warranty period, so I called customer service, where a native English speaker asked a series…
This machine is great when it works. I’ve had it for 9 days and, while frothing the milk, everything shuts down, not once, but multiple times. I’m extremely disappointed as I had done research looking for a reliable machine. This had such good reviews that I didn’t feel worrisome about the purchase. I’m returning it for a full refund. This may be a fluke on my order alone, I don’t know. I’m not going to replace it with this brand, though, as I don’t trust it now. An espresso machine in this price range ought to work longer than 9 days. Previous to this I had a Breville Nespresso Creatista. I p…
I recently upgraded to the Breville Barista Touch BES880BSS Espresso Machine as a replacement for my trusty Gaggia Classic Pro and Baratza Sette 30 grinder setup, which had served me well for the past four years. Switching to the Barista Touch has been a game-changer for my home coffee routine. Ease of Use: One of the standout features of the Barista Touch is the seamless integration of grinding, dosing, brewing, and milk frothing all within a single semi-automatic machine. The intuitive touchscreen interface makes managing each step effortless, eliminating the need for multiple separate tools…
